Delusions Deconstructed (poem)
Delusions Deconstructed (poem)
---
These days I talk to God
The walls have fallen all around me
In the debris lies my hubris
With assorted delusions of peace by action
The wisdom I had was only a mirror's reflection
In a world full of a twilight that shines in a million shades
I do not solve problems
I am one.
I throw up my hands
In prayer and supplication
In the ways of a defeated man
Finding shattered glasses
in a palace of illusions.
I see monkeys in human form
Launch missiles from their memoried tales
Lighting up night skies
to slay the internally dead.
I talk to God these days
His silences still echo from the mountains of my shaken being
