Clayfeet Chronicles (Poem)

The Caravan has dispersed
The cheers are a distant memory
Of the times when anger was joy
People were people
And knowledge did not obstruct naive spirits that found friends
Details were not devils.

Today's fringe is tomorrow's mainstream
The Revolution is but a broken ladder
Teens are fathers and mothers in waiting
Comrades are competitors in masks
Gods live on
In malleable hopes,
Fungible desires
Dissipated energies.

Recalled tales hide truths untold.
