Colours of God, symbols of men: Man Who Knew Infinity

Mathematics is for most people something that celebrates logic and precision. But in chronicling the life of a mathematician it takes intuition, sensitivity and human equations to portray subjects who see magic in algebraic formulae and numbers. 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' is a work  that manages to  transport us to a world where beauty meets proof, India meets Britain, history meets eternity, atheism meets God and human colours dance in sepia memories. If not for anything else see it for the way it captures old-world Cambridge and the period mood it is set in. Dev Patel as Ramanujan is laudable but Jeremy Irons as James Hardy is what makes the movie live. Personally, I think Ramanujan is a reincarnation of Newton. But like Ramanujan, I have no proof.
